The Summer 2026 maintenance window coincides with the campus data center generator test and is scheduled for the week of June 15th. HPC@UCD will be bringing servers down on Monday, June 15th, and they will be made available for use after planned maintenance tasks are completed.
The UC Davis High Performance Computing (HPC@UCD) will observe the university’s winter curtailment period and will be closed from December 20th, 2025 through January 4th, 2026.
Regular operations will resume on Monday, January 5th, 2026.

Starting August 12, 2025, HPC@UCD is offering Virtual Office Hours every Tuesday at 2 PM to support new research groups and individuals exploring high-performance computing at UC Davis.
The Hive, Farm, Impact, Demon and Peloton clusters will undergo maintenance starting 2025-06-16 06:00:00. These clusters will be offline, and any remaining in-progress jobs will be killed.
HPC clusters including Farm, Hive, Peloton, Cardio starting 2024-12-16 06:00:00. These clusters will be offline and any remaining in progress jobs will be killed.
HPCCF will perform maintenance on the HPC2 cluster on Monday, June 10th, starting at 8:00 a.m. This maintenance is required to upgrade the power circuits and add additional networking, which will allow HPC2 to expand.
We have opened Peloton up for use after upgrading compute and storage nodes to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.
The HPCCF is making some changes to the systems that it supports to ensure consistency to improve customer service. Please note the following changes because of the upgrade:
The operating system that powers Peloton, Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, reached end-of-life on April 30, 2023. As a result, Ubuntu 18.04 is no longer receiving updates.
