Hive user accounts on HPC systems are granted at the discretion of HPC@UCD, in accordance with UCOP and UC Davis policies. All accounts are bound by the Acceptable Use Policy.
Undergraduate accounts:
Use of Hive resources are not available for undergraduates with the following exceptions:
Undergraduate students who work in a principal investigator's lab may be onboarded to the PI's group and use the PI's resources. Faculty who use Hive for teaching may utilize their own resources to teach their undergraduate class, pending support availability. Classes should not utilize the Public queue.
Workshop Accounts:
Hive is available for time-bound workshops. Please notify [email protected] at least 2 weeks in advance with the number of accounts needed for workshop resources. Generic workshop accounts are created, and their usernames and passwords are stored in the coordinator's directory for dissemination to attendees. Accounts will be locked after the duration of the workshop. The workshop coordinator is responsible for all attendees' conduct, and attendees are bound by the Acceptable Use Policy.
Service Accounts:
HPC@UCD may create service accounts at our discretion. Service accounts must be created as department accounts, and Kerberos access may be granted. SSH access to service accounts will not be granted.
Affiliate Accounts:
A PI may grant external users access to their lab's resources via temporary affiliate accounts. Affiliate users are bound by the acceptable use policy, and each PI is responsible for their affiliates' conduct.
